Our Mission

Historical Context

Sudan’s transition from a dictatorial regime to a democratic one, and from war to peace, is not just a political shift but a profound societal transformation. Since its independence, Sudan has faced a series of conflicts, including the recent April 15th conflict that has impacted cities like Khartoum, Darfur, and Al Gazeera. This history of violence has left deep scars on victims, their families, and marginalized groups such as women, people with disabilities, internally displaced persons, and refugees.

Transitional justice in Sudan has been linked to various democratic transition models, yet it often lacks the necessary political will and genuine societal involvement. Our project seeks to fill this gap by ensuring that the voices of those affected by human rights violations are heard and that their stories shape the path toward justice and reconciliation.
